Understanding your Rackspace OpenStack Flex Bill
On the Rackspace OpenStack Flex platform - there are two primary ways to set your account up for billing. This article will briefly cover them, as well as where to find information on your invoices, upcoming bills, etc.
Utility Billing
The default method for all accounts that are created is the Utility Billing method. This simply charges you at the rates presented within the portals over the course of your billing cycle. With this billing method you are only paying for what you actually used within that month.

Contract Based Billing
Contract based billing is billing a contractual billing method in which an account is billed a fixed rate for a month and provided a specific set of resource quota related to the contracted amount. This is not the default billing scheme, and would have required engagement with sales and other Rackspace teams before this could be implemented on an account.
