Disable versus offline

You can configure the system to disable some resources or force them offline. Notice the key differences.

The difference between disabling a pool member or node or marking it offline concerns the connections they still permit.

  • Disable: Allows active and persistent connections.
  • Offline: Allows only active connections.

These differences are usually significant when you perform connection draining and require granularity over what sessions are still permitted.
