Rackspace Metrics API 2.0#
Last updated: May 20, 2019
Rackspace Metrics is a software service that enables users to ingest, condense, and query various kinds of metrics. Rackspace Metrics enables users to quickly iterate through the data with different queries and set up dashboard metrics for ongoing metrics monitoring. Rackspace Metrics is suitable for large-scale data collection but does not sacrifice the query performance that is needed for interactive metrics exploration.
Rackspace Metrics ingests and processes time-series data generated by other systems.
Rackspace Metrics exists as a cluster of distributed services. Data is stored in Apache Cassandra databases and queried using Elasticsearch.
Rackspace Metrics provides the following APIs for working with metrics:
- Query API
- Ingestion API
The Rackspace Metrics Ingestion API is available only to customers participating in the Early Access Program.
This guide is intended to assist software developers who want to develop applications by using the REST application programming interface (API) for the Rackspace Metrics service.
